Celebrations Fundraisers — See Calendar at Right
Aprende con Amigos supports and celebrates all the holidays and customs shared by our families. We have designed some celebrations to tie into these holidays. These events are designed mostly to celebrate the changing of seasons and will touch on the holidays and celebrations that fall within them. These celebrations will require the support of our parents through active committee involvement.

Journey of Learning Parent Meetings — Second Wednesday of Each Month
Aprende con Amigos views its parents as an integral part of our team. On the second Wednesday of each month, parents are invited to join us for a family potluck. The goal of these monthly potlucks is two-fold. The first is to build a sense of community as we share a meal and to get to know one another. The second is to give parents and teachers an opportunity to build a stronger home and school connection as we study together the philosophies, methodologies, and techniques used in education and child rearing at Aprende con Amigos. Some topics will be decided in advance such as language acquisition theory and research and some will develop form issues that arise in the classroom as the school year develops. We hope to see you there!

Date Night — Third Friday of Each Month
Date night is a monthly opportunity to leave your child in good hands while you take a break for yourself! It is held the third Friday of each month from 6-9pm. The cost is $20.00 for 1st child and $12.00 for each additional child. Participate by dropping your child off or by volunteering to host with a staff member. If you volunteer to host, the following month you get to sign up for free! Date night is held the third Friday of each month. Quiet activities will be coordinated to the number of children in attendance and a healthy snack will also be provided. Younger and older siblings are welcome, but please keep in mind that our environment is supportive of 3-5 year olds. Therefore, please bring diapers/changing mat/wipes/bottles, if needed, as well as age-appropriate toys for both the younger and older siblings. Space is limited so sign up early!

Aprende Book Club — First Thursday of Each Month
Book Club is a night out for Mommies only! It will be held on the first Thursday of each month in a time and place to be determined by the group. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other Mommies in the Aprende community and have a fun night out once a month discussing books and short stories!

Spanish for Parents ó Fourth Tuesday of Each Month
Parent demand brought this group to life and allows parents to learn some basic Spanish to help support the learning your child is doing here at Aprende. It is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:00pm and will be led by Sacha, Mommy of Mateo, one of our own Aprende parents! Sacha is a bilingual teacher in PPS and we are lucky to have her help and expertise. A potluck will take place from 5:30-6:00 and Spanish class will follow. Children are welcome and a teacher or parent volunteer will help to provide childcare here at Aprende during your class. There will be a small fee for the class.
